Here's why we are widely considered as the first choice for music lessons in Kitsap County!
1. Structured music programs and curriculum
Our music programs are designed to help students become versatile and literate musicians through well designed curriculums.
2. A proven track record of excellence since 2003
Our students have been awarded top honors in state music competitions and assessments by the College of Examiners of The Royal Conservatory Music Development Program.
3. Some of the area's best music teachers
Our instructors have graduated from music programs in schools such as North Texas State University, The University of Texas, Concordia University, Pacific Lutheran University, The Armed Forces School of Music and Western Washington University. Combine this with professional experience in performance, composing, music production and recording and you have instructors who can not only teach the art of making music; they can also pass on real music industry experience.
4. A wide range of lesson times available:
Monday through Thursday - 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Friday - 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM
5. Our focus is on teaching music
Music stores teach lessons primarily to create customer traffic. It's a part of their business model, and rightly so. They provide a wonderful service to the local music community. We direct our time and energy on teaching music.
6. Comfortable waiting area; Open Studios
We have a comfortable reception area with free Wi-Fi, magazines, coffee and bottled water service. Each studio has a large glass door so that lessons in progress can be observed at anytime. Parents are always welcome to sit in on their child's lesson.
7. Regular Performance opportunities, video/audio recordings and lots of photos
Students have many opportunities to perform. They can participate in Music Development Program graduation recitals, at one of our quarterly "Pop Night" gigs at local venues, or they can make a video or audio recording during a lesson. Videos, audio recordings and photos are posted on our "WAMPAGE" on Facebook.
8. We are conveniently located in the retail and business hub of Kitsap County
Our central location in Silverdale near the Kitsap Mall is convenient to all areas of Silverdale, Bremerton, Port Orchard and Poulsbo.
9. Month to month lessons
Our school does not require semester minimums or yearly membership fees. After an initial two month minimum every student here is on a month to month basis.
10. Locally owned. Family operated and oriented!
The owners, the Cox family, have lived in Kitsap County since 1993, buying a home and moving to Silverdale when guitarist Rick Cox was first transferred to the U. S. Navy Band at Bangor. We are happy to be an integral part of this great community. Join us and our great teachers at WAM. We'll always do our best to make your time here the best part of your week!
